Sliding the box out of the sleeve presents you with a black box and a retro-looking stamped logo in silver with the company and product name. I’m assuming the other versions available (we’ll get into that in a moment) would reflect the leather finish of those. The box has a cardboard sleeve printed with the same wood finish look as the surface of the keyboard. I don’t normally cover packaging in my reviews because, for the most part, it’s usually pretty standard and bland. Before we get too far into the actual keyboard, the packaging is well done as well. Upon taking it out of the box, the Azio Retro Classic Bluetooth/USB mechanical keyboard is something to behold.

Note: the video below doesn’t showcase our review unit, the Elwood, which is the newest addition to the series with its wood finish instead of leather. The Azio Retro Classic BT has the following features and specifications: Read on to see if the performance matches the look! Specifications If you’re like me and spent part of your school years handing in typewritten reports, the look of this keyboard alone may have some nostalgic allure. Our Azio Retro Classic BT review takes a look at one of these more elegant solutions: a mechanical keyboard with old tyme typewriter-style keys and a real wood finish coupled with a Zinc alloy frame. Like almost any product, there are your basic standard choices all the way up to more luxurious and elegant options. Unfortunately, that means companies have to come up with different ways to stand out from the crowded market. TL DR - This is a review on test model, so any questions, opinion, or suggestions are welcome and they would help Leopold to improve their final model. When it comes to peripherals these days, there’s no arguing that there is a shortage of choice.
I'd also appreciate if you could share few opinions on this keyboard anything you are expecting, suggestions for improvement, or any opinion regarding FC660M BT would be helpful and I'd gladly include those in my report for Leopold to consider. I'm not related to Leopold in any way other than I'm one of their 20 testers, so I might not be able to answer all of your questions.

Please feel free to ask any questions regarding Leopold FC660M BT, and I'll try my best to answer them as far as I know. I'm not sure if I wrote the review well, but I hope that this is somehow useful x) Unfortunately, I don't know when exactly Leopold will release the final model and how much it will cost. I can keep the test model and am planning on some modifications, but I haven't turned in my test report and didn't want to mess up before I do so, so I didn't touch anything other than opening the case. I'm not a great gamer, but the connection was stable without noticeable delays even when I was playing few games (but this might be because I'm not a skilled gamer, and high-skilled gamers might have different opinions on bluetooth connection delays/stabilities).Īnd finally, the PCB and the lower case. Also, it is my first time using bluetooth 5.0 or above and I felt almost no delay in typing. I tried multi-pairing to four devies that use different operating systems, and connection worked perfectly fine.

While my main OS is Mac OS X, I also use Windows 10, Android 10, and iOS 14.

My main OS is Mac OS X as well, and I tried both wired, bluetooth and multi-pairing connections with my Mac worked perfectly fine. Still because it does not officially support OS X, no additional keycaps for command and alt keys are provided. The model still provides DIP switch setting that you can switch Windows(command) and alt keys, or, you could change the modifier key settings in your system preferences. Unfortunately, Leopold 660M BT does not officially support Mac OS X this does not mean that you cannot use with your Mac.
Most stuff are similar to the regular 660M model, but finally USB C (instead of mini B), bluetooth 5.1, and multi-pairing up to 4 devices. I've seen few other people who received the prototype models, and they all seemed to be the ones with Cherry MX browns, and grey-blue keycaps. The box has some information of the specifications it seems that Leopold is going to release keyboards with SP-Star switches as well.
